Use Case Description
Sustainably increasing agricultural productivity, from large scale agriculture to small-holders farming, is crucial to minimising the human impact on the Earth’s natural resources and avoiding land-use-related conflicts. Earth Observation is a powerful technique for continuously assessing the status of agricultural production across a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. EO-enabled sustainable agricultural production supports stakeholders by providing objective information, ranging from historical to current data at local and national levels, on cultivated areas (crop type, acreage, irrigation supply) and yield assessment, enhancing transparency and evidence-based decision-making.
