Freely available Copernicus satellite data, with its high spatial and temporal resolution, supports this high-level site assessment. Scalable EO-based technology provides valuable site recommendations, which are further reviewed in the context of the general effort required for use case implementation—such as proximity to consumers and existing infrastructure. This is crucial for the deployment of least-cost solutions and the planning of suitable transmission infrastructure.
