High-resolution (HR) infrared (IR) radiometers/spectrometers for measuring heat radiation (only some instruments covering reflected sunlight in the NIR/SWIR) primarily over land. Relatively few broad thermal infrared (TIR) bands roughly covering wavelengths longer than about 7–8 µm. TIR bands with higher spatial resolution of betwen 60-120m. Their design and downstream applications are separate from those of the lower spatial but higher temporal resolution TIR imaging capabilities in the “MR Spectro-Radiometers” or “Multi-purpose Vis/IR” categories.
