Infrared (IR) radiometers/spectrometers capable of measuring heat radiation through thermal infrared (TIR) bands with spatial resolutions between 60-1000m suitable for applications over land and sea. Relatively few broad TIR bands roughly covering wavelengths longer than about 7–8 µm. The additional filter applied intentionally excludes TIR capable atmospheric temperature and humidity sounders.
