Hyperspectral imagers are passive imaging spectrometers measuring hundreds of contiguous spectral bands for every pixel. This allows for a much more fine-grained retrieval of material and atmospheric properties, enabling applications in climatology, surface mineralogy, as well as vegetation and water quality monitoring.
